Многие интересуются моей биографией. Как я читал в газете, нашлись несерьёзные люди в Соединённых Штатах Америки, дальние родственники князей Гагариных, которые считают, что я какой-то их потомственный родственник. Но могу их разочаровать. Я простой советский человек. Родился я 9 марта 1934 года в семье колхозника. Место рождения - Смоленская область, Гжатский район, село Клушино. В своей родословной никаких князей и знатного рода никого не знаю и никогда не слышал. Родители мои до революции крестьяне, бедняки. Старшее поколение - дедушка и бабушка - также были крестьянинами, бедняками.

Many are interested in my biography. As I read in a newspaper, there are unserious people in the U.S.A., distant relatives of the Gagarin princes, who consider that I am some kind of hereditary relation to them. Well, I have to disappoint them. I'm a simple Soviet person. I was born on March 9, 1934 to a collective farm family. Place of birth: Smolensk oblast, Gzhanski rayon, village of Klushino. In my genealogy there are no princes and I don't know and never heard of any notables. My parents were poor peasants before the Revolution. The older generation, grandfather and grandmother were also poor peasants.
