A Farewell to the Bards

This year we have lost - so far - 4 fundamental poets in South America:

- BLANCA VARELA, Peruvian poetess born in 1926. She passed away on March 12, 2009.
- IDEA VILARIÑO, Uruguayan poetess born in 1920. She passed away on April 28, 2009.
- MARIO BENEDETTI, Uruguayan poet born in 1920. He passed away on May 15, 2009.
- JORGE ADOUM, Ecuadorian poet born in 1926. He passed away on July 3rd, 2009.

They leave a legacy of troubled times, but who says our times are not? Living throughout the 20th Century they faced life and love and fear.

Like MORRISEY said in CEMETERY GATES, they were all human beings

With the loves and hates
And passions just like mine
They were born
And then they lived and then they died
Seems so unfair
And I want to cry

The human being departs, the legacy and spirity remains.

My humble homage to you, My Bards... See you Soon!
