A word of congratulation for all Canadians today July the 1st.
I must say that I knew from Canada long before I knew USA existed because my father studied there from 1967 to 1969 at Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Saint Francis Xavier University. The first books I read in English were Canadian, back in 1976.
Canada faces now many of the challenges of USA. Waves of Immigrants from all over the world, a new melting pot is taking shape, north of the US Border. The challenge of tolerance to different accents, skin colors, physical features, traditions, beliefs, is there for the Canadian People to deal with it, without losing the original ideals. Full adult age as a Nation, free from British and French Domain, Canadians are expanding all over the world. Here in our country, Panama, there is a huge Canadian community.
Congrats "amigos de Canada".-
THE LANDOF THE FREE, THE HOME OF THE BRAVE
For your knowledge dear American friends, many people here in Panama (Panamanians and American expats) will be celebrating the 4th of July in our streets.
AMERICA has been known for the ideals of the Founding Fathers (JEFFERSON, FRANKLIN, ADAMS, WASHINGTON, etc.) enlightened men who understood the Spiritual Purpose and Mission of The New Continent. Many others shared the Vision (LAFAYETTE, MIRANDA, SIMON BOLIVAR, etc.) which somehow has been distorted by the ones who have come after them in the Centuries.
AMERICA has been The Melting Pot "par excellence", never forget that the American Nation has been made out of immigrants who pursue happiness, achievement and a fulfilled life.
In spite of the Anti-American feeling which grows in the world, many people still see in USA that ORIGINAL PURPOSE, American People, you must not forget it.
FELICIDADES MIS AMIGOS GRINGOS
I believe the American nation has the power and opportunity to become the "Big Brother" if they use this power wisely...something that is not happening at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThank you also for your felicitations to Canadians.
